// Who We Are
Green Square is Singapore's leading textile recycling platform, connecting residents, schools, and businesses with a circular economy for clothing.
// Our Mission
Singapore generates over 150,000 tonnes of textile waste every year. Yet only 7% is recycled. The rest ends up in Semakau Landfill, which is on track to run out of space by 2035.
Green Square was founded on one conviction: that number can and must change. Our target is to drive Singapore's textile recycling rate from 7% to 14% by 2030, a modest goal with an enormous impact if communities, companies, and schools choose to act together.
Every piece of clothing donated isn't just fabric saved. It's water conserved, carbon avoided, and a signal that a circular economy is possible here.

// The Lifecycle
We work to keep textiles in a closed recycling loop, conserving natural resources and reducing environmental pollution.
Consumer determines their clothes are no longer needed.
Find a nearby drop-off bin or visit one of 23 locations island-wide.
Green Square collects recyclables from all points via efficient route planning.
Textiles sealed and transported to our warehouse for sorting.
Every item inspected and sorted by type, condition and usage.
Good quality recyclables are baled and sold to second-hand textile importers in developing countries, enabling affordable clothing for those who need it most.
Worn, stained or unusable items are cut into industrial wiping rags and sold to factories across Singapore as a circular cleaning product.
Lightly defective textiles are patched and restored to usable condition by our repair partners before re-entering the supply chain.
// Our Philosophy
We don't believe in a throwaway culture. Everything has a second life. We just need to find it.
Wearable clothes, paired shoes, and accessories go directly to second-hand markets, donation drives, and social enterprises, to be worn again by someone who needs them.
Every garment kept in use is one less made from scratch. By extending the life of what already exists, we cut demand for new textiles — and the water, carbon, and waste that come with them.
Items too worn to rewear are sorted and processed into new material — shredded into industrial wiping rags and fibre — so even your worst old t-shirt stays out of the landfill.
